I have a passion for teaching others about Christ. It is a privilege to share His story with others and especially children. I am a Christian, the wife of a gospel preacher and the mother of 6 children. The first Bible class I taught was when I was a teenager in Amarillo, TX. That was a long, long time ago. I have taught many children’s and ladies’ classes since then. I have had my share of successes and my share of failures. I have learned from watching others teach, from listening to others talk about teaching and from getting in the classroom and teaching myself. One of the things that has helped me the most is observing other teachers — the way they interact with the children and the activities they choose to cement the lesson of the day in those little minds. I know there are lots of Bible class teachers that are searching, just like I am, for good ways to improve their teaching and make the short time spent in Bible class as productive as possible.

Over the years I have accumulated material that has been helpful to myself and others. I would like to share it with you. The internet makes this so easy to do. No longer is there a need to compile a manuscript and hope a publisher somewhere will want to publish what I have to say. No longer is there a need to invest lots of money in publishing the material myself. Instead, I can start a blog/website that can be written/updated/corrected all from the computer in my kitchen. What an opportunity.

I hope that you will find here something that you can take to your classroom and use or even inspire you to do something similar or, even better, improve on, for use with your students. At Bible Songs and More you will find:

  • Original children’s songs
  • Folder activities
  • Bulletin boards
  • Project folders
  • Lesson plans
  • Teaching Tips

Feel free to use any material on this website with your own children and with your Bible class. If you would like to use them on a larger scale, please ask. If you find any errors (and I’m sure there are plenty), feel free to email me and let me know about them.

I hope you enjoy your visit here,
Diana Dow

  1. It really DOES look good, Diana. My sister, who edits websites, uses Word Press for her own websites. She just started a new one, and said the process was much easier than it used to be. I’ll take your web address to people I know who might like to use it.

  2. I was curious about the teaching material/lesson plans you had posted at your dowsschoolroom.com site – do you plan to post it here? Thanks!

  3. I am working on our VBS for summer. Went to the old site to print off your PDF of activities for Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams. No longer there and I don’t believe it’s posted here yet. Would you be willing to e-mail it to me??

    • Hi Shannon. I just did a quick upload of the file you’re wanting. It is on my Miscellaneous Activities page for right now. Here is the link to that page: Mischellaneous Activities. If you have trouble getting it to open, let me know. It is a zip file.

I’m having trouble opening so I imagine you will. I’ll have to work on it later. I’ll get it to you though.
